North American Amateur Drumming
MHAF and Cameron Drumming Studios proudly present the 5th annual Cameron
Drumming Studios Midwest Highland Arts Fund North American Amateur Drumming Championships, January 11, 2008 at the Holiday Inn at the Plaza, in Kansas City. The contest will be concurrent with the new North American Gold Medal Championship.
The age of the Competitor in Amateur Grades 1, 2, and 3 will not be restricted. Depending upon the grade, the Competitor must submit a MSR and HJ, or MSR only, and be accompanied by a piper.
Drummers placing First through Third in the three grades will win the North American Amateur Medal. Minted with the Gold Medal, the bronze replica is 2.5 inches (6.5 cm) in diameter, featuring the MHAF logo on the obverse, and the Cameron logo on the reverse.
Premier Percussion, Pearl Drums, and Andante Percussion will provide snare drums as prizes. The North American Champions will choose a prize snare drum from an array of Pearl, Andante, and Premier drums.
The contests will be held just before the 7th Annual MHAF Winter Storm Weekend, January 11 - 13, and that Saturday evening's WINTER STORM 2008: The Pipes & Drums Concert, performed by the workshop faculty.
